Flow Traders, a global liquidity provider for exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and digital assets, has selected New Jersey-based CoreWeave as its primary cloud provider for its artificial intelligence and deep learning division.
The Amsterdam-based company is a quantitative trading firm that uses mathematical models and computer algorithms to analyze financial markets and make trading decisions. Under the agreement announced Tuesday, Flow Traders will use CoreWeave's cloud platform and dedicated computing capacity to train foundation models used in its AI-driven trading strategy.
Flow Traders selected CoreWeave after a competitive evaluation that focused on the company's ability to support large-scale, high-intensity workloads across multiple computing nodes, as well as its technical support and planning for future infrastructure needs, the companies said.
"Tomorrow's innovations can't be built on yesterday's infrastructure," said Joshua Mathew, co-head of Flow Traders' AI and deep learning division. "We are committed to conducting cutting-edge research to model financial markets, and our partnership with CoreWeave secures the technology and scale that is required for it."
The partnership comes as quantitative trading firms expand their use of artificial intelligence and deep learning to develop models for financial markets. The process of training foundation models requires significant computing capacity and the ability to run workloads across multiple interconnected systems.
"Flow Traders is one of the financial services firms pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI-driven trading," said Jon Jones, chief revenue officer at CoreWeave. "We built CoreWeave Cloud to deliver consistent performance at scale, and we're proud to support Flow Traders' AI and deep learning division as it moves these models toward production."
