Oshkosh entrepreneurs invited to free AI training in August

OSHKOSH – Oshkosh Chamber is bringing a national artificial intelligence training program to local entrepreneurs and small businesses, with a free workshop scheduled for Aug. 27 in Oshkosh.

The chamber is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to offer Small Business B(AI)sics, according to a community announcement.

The initiative, supported by Google, is designed to help businesses with 500 employees or fewer build practical artificial intelligence skills.

The program comes as AI adoption among small businesses continues to grow. Entrepreneurs using AI report saving time, improving customer service and finding new opportunities for business growth, according to the announcement.

Small Business B(AI)sics aims to train 40,000 U.S. entrepreneurs during the next three years through in-person workshops and online learning resources.

“Innovation has always been part of Oshkosh's story,” said Rob Kleman, president and CEO of the Oshkosh Chamber. “Whether it's a startup, a family-owned business, or one of our established manufacturers, every business deserves access to the tools shaping the future. We're excited to bring this AI training to our members and the broader business community so they can grow, adapt, and continue driving Oshkosh forward.”

What participants will learn

The training is expected to cover foundational and practical applications of AI for small businesses.

Topics include the following:

- Building an understanding of AI fundamentals, data protection considerations and ethical AI use.

- Exploring AI tools that can help improve efficiency and work alongside platforms businesses already use.

- Using AI to analyze business operations and identify potential growth opportunities.

- Developing a plan to begin implementing AI tools immediately.

The training initiative is supported through the Oshkosh Chamber's Amplify program, which focuses on helping businesses adopt emerging technologies, encourage innovation and prepare for changes in the workforce, according to the announcement.

Workshop planned for Aug. 27

The first in-person session is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 27 at The Culver Family Welcome Center.

The workshop is free and open to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Registration is available through the Oshkosh Chamber website.
