PANHANDLE, Texas (KFDA) - Fermi officials have met with community leaders in Carson County and Panhandle to discuss Project Matador, a 17-gigawatt private power and AI campus being built by Pantex.

Then it becomes just about money. And there’s too many businesses in the world that are just about money. Fermi wants to be one that is actively supporting the communities in which they live.”
Along with other community partners, Fermi met with Panhandle ISD and approved two key items tied to the development.
The district said it believes the agreements will offer financial safeguards.
Officials said Fermi would not invest billions of dollars into a community without planning on having a long-term vision.
