Zira’s new Andon changes that: it connects directly to Zira AI camera detections, turning a quality defect, safety hazard or production issue into a visible signal on the floor in under a second.
A missing block, a broken stringer, a raised nail, a hand near a bandsaw blade: the moment the camera detects it, the light changes, right where the operator is standing. No screen to check, no report to open, no supervisor relay. The detection itself becomes the signal.
“Every plant knows what an Andon is. What’s new is what’s driving it,” said Elhay Farkash, CEO of Zira. “This is the first stack light that takes its orders from AI vision. The camera makes the call, and the floor sees it instantly.”
The system is also built to fit the way real plants run. The Andon can connect through a POE gateway or wirelessly, and it can combine AI detections with other inputs, signals from machine controllers or a button press from a worker into a single light logic. A line can show red on a camera-detected defect, amber or blue on a machine fault, and green when an operator confirms the station is clear, all from one unit.
Setup is deliberately simple: the Andon pairs with existing Zira cameras and is designed to be running the same day it arrives, without an integration project or controls engineering.
