# Albright College to Offer AI Training Program for Teachers - GovTech

The four-course Artificial Intelligence Endorsement program received approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in June and accepts its first students Aug. 24. The fully online graduate credential prepares K-12 educators to integrate AI into their classrooms.

A 2024 RAND-CRPE study found that 60 percent of school districts planned to train teachers on AI use by the end of the 2024-25 school year, yet few structured programs existed to meet that need.
The state Department of Education responded by establishing a new AI Endorsement credential comparable to existing state endorsements in gifted education, instructional coaching and autism.
“Educators are on the front lines of preparing students for a world shaped by artificial intelligence, and they deserve high-quality, practical training to meet that challenge,” said Debra Townsley, president of Albright College. “The generosity of the Glenn W. Bailey Foundation allows us to make this critical professional development more accessible and to build a community of AI-literate educators across our region.”
The program consists of four graduate-level courses: Foundations of AI, Ethical and Responsible AI, AI for Teaching and Learning, and AI Integration and Leadership. Each course runs 7½ weeks and costs $975.
Christine Remley, associate vice president for academic affairs, developed the program in collaboration with the college’s Education Department and School of Professional Studies. The online format allows educators from urban, suburban and rural communities across Pennsylvania to access the training, including teachers in under-resourced districts.
The program is expected to reach approximately 5,000 students and educators statewide over time.
The Glenn W. Bailey Foundation, based in West Palm Beach, Fla., supports charitable initiatives focused on strengthening communities.
